As we are celebrating the successful launch of the Avail mainnet, as a validator who has been closely following the development and growth of Avail through Kate, Goldberg, Turning phases to Mainnet, I’m thrilled to see our network up and running with robust capabilities.
The launch of the mainnet is a testament to the strength and reliability of Avail’s technology and the dedication of its community. As part of this growing ecosystem, it’s exhilarating to see the network operate smoothly with the initial set of 51 genesis validators.
While the current set of validators is doing an outstanding job, I believe in the power of community and diversity to enhance network security and decentralization. Therefore, I propose an expansion of the active validator set from 51 to 100.
Why ?
- Increasing the number of experienced and trusted validators in the active set enhances network decentralization and security.
- Validators who have actively contributed during the testnet phases possess a deep understanding of the Avail network’s intricacies and potential challenges. Including them in the active set leverages their expertise for ongoing network health and innovation.
- The significant token delegations to these validators signify strong community trust and support. Integrating them into the active set respects and actualizes the community’s preference and investment.
- Officially recognizing the contributions of these validators by including them in the active set encourages them and others to continue investing time and resources into the network. It sets a precedent for recognizing and rewarding meaningful contributions, which can foster a culture of proactive engagement across the community.
Expanding the active validator set to include committed and experienced members from testnet phases is a strategic move towards building a more resilient and community-driven network.
