Avail’s Nomination Program Committee: Objectives, Composition, Responsibilities, Values

The Avail Foundation sets out to provide nomination to ecosystem participants to assist in the decentralization of the network.

Avail’s Nomination Program Committee (NPC) is tasked with the responsibility of managing the nominations that the foundation places into the network via the Nomination Program outlined in AIP 4.

The Nomination Program Committee reviews all applications through the Nomination Program and provides a note of acceptance into the program to the applicant.

Objectives of the Nomination Program Committee

  • Ensure nomination integrity: Evaluate all applicants in a fair but strict manner, to ensure that the nominations provided are solely to reputable and reliable participants.
  • Foster Network Growth: By selecting strong ecosystem participants to be nominated to, this committee helps to ensure the expansions of the active set have the best chance of being filled with the most reliable and long term participants in our network.
  • Maintain Transparency and Accountability: Operate
transparently, providing clear updates to the community in decision-making.

NPC Framework for application decisions

As outlined in AIP 4: Mainnnet Nomination Program, the committee evaluates the applications based on the following minimum requirements, and key points for further considerations.

  4. Validators must connect to a dedicated telemetry system for monitoring.

  5. Only one node per application

  6. Node operators must manage their own nodes, or work with a verifiably strong third party node operations team, however, self managed is preferred.

  7. Must have a Mainnet node bonded and in waitlist.

  8. Validator commission must be 10% or less.

  9. Must not operate from the US, sanctioned countries, or prohibited jurisdictions and pass compliance screening.

  10. Applicant or representative of the entity must complete a simply KYC through Sumsub.

Key further considerations:
